Together they were named in South African film magazine, Big Screen as one of the ultra-cool couples in Hollywood, featuring alongside Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman and John Travolta and Kelly Preston. They met, of all places, on a blind date arranged by mutual friends. The following is what Michelle had to say about meeting David for the first time:

'I had gotten to the point in my life where you wonder if you'll ever meet the right person. I just never wanted to get married for the sake of getting married. Then I met David, and we went out for a very simple dinner. I'm very quiet. He was quiet. I didn't even think he liked me. Still, I had a feeling right away about him.'

In a recent US Magazine interview Michelle's sister, Dedee said the following about the couple:

'They absolutely adore each other, and that alone is pretty powerful. Since David has come into her life, she's a lot more relaxed. She's finally at peace. Everything is finally just right.'
